Last week Chair Al Grundy, Mayor Andrew Willcox, Deputy Chair Judy Porter and CEO Tash Wheeler headed down to Brisbane to meet with key stakeholders including Tourism and Events Queensland, Minister for Tourism, Queensland Tourism Industry Council as well as the Opposition. These were very valuable meetings and it was great opportunity to be in Brisbane and represent as a united group with the Mayor alongside, thank you to Andrew for joining us in singing the song of tourism!
It was an excellent networking night last Thursday, thanks to the Proserpine Museum, Subway Proserpine and Proserpine Chamber of Commence for hosting. Also great to have an update from Mayor Willcox on the exciting projects and announcements from Whitsunday Regional Council. Thank you to Brett Kapernick from Queensland Tourism Industry Council who came up to attend the networking and reinforce the great opportunities Tourism Whitsundays members now have through their QTIC Membership. Also thank you to the Queensland Government on attending and sharing information on the Island project. Don’t forget to RSVP for next months’ networking which will be the Airlie Beach Race Week Launch Party at the Whitsunday Sailing Club on the 11th April. Places are filling fast!
