|In Review |It’s that time of the year again! Nominations for the Whitsunday Tourism Awards are OPEN. Excitingly this year, Tourism Whitsunday and Queensland Tourism Industry Council (QTIC) have collaborated in offering the Whitsundays Region access to the Awards Online Program. In what will be a Queensland Regional Tourism Office (RTO) industry first the Whitsunday tourism operators, accommodation providers and business owners will nominate and submit all through the Awards Online Portal which in previous years was only used for entrants to the state and national level Tourism Awards. Make sure you keep Saturday 26th October free – dust off your dancing shoes, as always, it’s going to be bigger and better than ever!
As we approach the end of the financial year Tourism Whitsundays renewals come up, and now more than ever our tourism industry needs to rally together, we need to invest in the continued growth of our region using the resources available to Tourism Whitsundays to promote our stunning destination to a global audience. There are so many exciting re-openings and new products happening for the Whitsundays – this is set to be a big year for us, we look forward making the most of that opportunity.
The inaugural Whitsunday Festival of Motoring kicks off this weekend, the 3-day event will begin this Friday and is set to draw crowds from far and wide. We’d like to take this opportunity to say a heartfelt thank you to the Airlie Beach Cruise Ship Ambassadors for their 15 years of friendly welcoming faces! The Airlie Beach Cruise Ship Ambassadors are such an integral part of our cruise ship offerings, we’re grateful to the have support of the Whitsunday Regional Council with this program.
If you’ve got some little people in your life make sure you take them down to the new Airlie Beach foreshore playground for some serious fun!! With lots for the really little kids and bigger kids to climb, swing and see! Well done to the Whitsunday Regional Council on the completion of this mega fun zone!
